Are you tired of struggling just to survive?
There’s a breakthrough coming!
After a long day, you’re feeling overwhelmed and hopeless. Managing your daily routine feels impossible. Struggling to communicate and feeling disconnected with the people you care about has become the normal.
Do you feel like life is working against you – and winning? Often we find ourselves stuck and unable to be happy, but can’t put our finger on what’s wrong or how to fix it. Holding onto negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors too long gets us in a rut where we can’t see our way out.
I have an inclusive practice serving individuals and families as well as providing group therapy to find your way to healing.
Has your kid mastered the eye roll?
Are they refusing to go to school, never leave their room, struggling with depression, anxiety or anger issues?
Are they being bullied, feel awkward or overwhelmed?
Do they argue with your every direction?
When pulled away from video games, is it like poking a dragon?
You want them to come out of their room, but you’re afraid to look in there. You tell them you won’t ask them again; then ask them 20 more times.
You’ve tried everything, and you’re at the end of your rope.
What are your choices?
Too much parenting cripples children as they move into adulthood and leaves them unable to cope with the simplest challenges.
Too little involvement from parents also leads to behavior problems and to pursue peer influences. Surprisingly harsh or authoritarian parenting can also have the same effect.
Don’t get caught up in the power struggles. Stop screaming – “Stop screaming!” but keep the rules in place. Learn to set healthy limits but help your child in their struggle. It appears that they just want to be left alone, but they still need reassurance that they are part of the family – they won’t tell you that.
No one is perfect. And there is no parenting manual. We tend to go on our instincts, but maybe we were just taught the wrong way.
The problem could get worse if you put off getting help.
